Of the sixty-four stores that Tiffany & Co. operate in the United States, no other location—not even all 63 others combined—is as great a cultural landmark as the famous Fifth Avenue flagship store. The company that outfitted jewelry on the Astors, the Vanderbilts, and countless other members of the New York aristocracy over the years, is as famous for its central role in Audrey Hepburn’s Breakfast At Tiffany’s as it is for anything else. So much so, in fact, that you’ll generally hear people refer to the store as “Tifanny’s” instead of the proper name. The store still retains its sparsely decorated, tiny display windows and all of the charm that has defined Tiffany’s for the better part of two centuries.
