As a result of his coming out he must rebuild friendships, overcome the hostility of teammates and work at finding how to be a gay person of color in the classic American past time. As the Empires compete for a championship, everyone involved, from the players to the fans investigate their relationship to tradition, loyalty and ponder the price of victory.
