She hasn't not seen her mother in years, and the visit brings Lucy back to her childhood in an isolated rural setting and her escape to New York with the goal of becoming a writer, As she begins to establish herself, she still finds herself gripped by the urgent complexities of family life.

Ronas Munro adaptes this story from Elizabeth Strout's bestselling novel.
